Kiwi Caretakers
Married Couple with Rural Background will take great care of your pets, home & garden.
We are a married couple who both grew up on farms so taking responsibility for a variety of animals
and the practical necessities of rural properties is second nature to us. We have been doing this
full-time together since 2007.
As your house sitters we will:
- Accept the responsibility of caring for your home, pets, yard, gardens, and pool areas.
- Maintain a standard of care for your home and pets equivalent to and no less than your own.
- Take all reasonable steps to ensure the safety and security of your home and contents at all times.
Tasks we usually perform during a house sitting stay include: pet care, gardening, lawn mowing, garbage disposal, pool maintenance, collecting mail, forwarding faxes or important documents.
We are semi-retired, non-smokers, non-drinkers with an active interest in caring for pets and property. We regard it as our main job. Robert is self-employed in foreign exchange with qualifications in landscape design and horticulture.
Bernadette is a Violin and ESOL teacher (English to Second Languages), Montessori teacher as well as a holistic healer. She has also trained as a professional pet-carer and has homeopathic vet knowledge and experience.
Managing a boarding kennel and cattery for five months in Paihia was a great experience. We learned about different pets individual needs and how to best care for all kinds of dogs, cats and even birds.
With our own homes and precious pets we know the peace of mind that house-sitters gave us while we were away. This means that keeping you up to date with regular emails and text messages is a priority we understand well.
